At The Candle Club, we believe dining is about much more than great food and service. We create experiences. From the moment a member or guest arrives until the moment they leave, every interaction should feel welcoming, personal, polished, and memorable. The Restaurant Manager will set the tone for our front-of-house team and ensure that every service reflects The Candle Club's standards of hospitality. This position requires a hands-on leader who understands that in a private club, members are not simply customers—they are people with whom we build lasting relationships. Key Responsibilities Lead all front-of-house restaurant operations while maintaining exceptional standards of service, hospitality, appearance, and professionalism. Create a culture centered around member recognition, personalized service, and memorable experiences . Build genuine relationships with members and learn their preferences, expectations, and special occasions. Be highly visible on the dining room floor, engaging with members and guests throughout service. Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and develop front-of-house employees. Conduct pre-shift meetings that prepare and motivate the team for each service. Establish clear service standards and hold employees accountable while creating a positive, professional work environment. Work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and dining room. Maintain strong knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, wine, cocktails, and beverage offerings. Handle member concerns professionally and proactively, turning service challenges into opportunities to strengthen member relationships. Monitor reservations, table management, pacing, and dining room flow to provide a comfortable and refined experience. Maintain high standards for dining room presentation, cleanliness, uniforms, table settings, and overall atmosphere. Assist with private events, club functions, special dinners, and member experiences. Monitor labor, operating expenses, inventory, and other departmental costs while maintaining the service standards expected of a private club. Continually look for opportunities to improve service, elevate the member experience, and develop the restaurant team. Qualifications Several years of restaurant management experience required , preferably in fine dining, upscale casual dining, luxury hospitality, or private club environments . Strong understanding of elevated food and beverage service. Demonstrated ability to lead, train, motivate, and hold a hospitality team accountable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Warm, confident, professional presence with the ability to comfortably interact with members and guests. Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate guest needs before being asked. Experience with wine, spirits, cocktails, and elevated beverage service preferred. Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a fast-paced service environment. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special club events.
