Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Chef/Seafood Market Manager to lead our vibrant seafood department and culinary team. This role combines expert culinary skills with strong leadership and management capabilities to deliver exceptional seafood offerings and memorable dining experiences. As a key member of our team, you will oversee daily operations, ensure top-quality food safety standards, and inspire your team to excel in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment. Your enthusiasm for seafood, culinary excellence, and team management will drive success and delight our customers. Duties Lead the preparation, cooking, and presentation of seafood dishes, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and freshness. Manage the seafood market's inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices. Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food safety sanitizing procedures, food handling, and adherence to health regulations. Oversee team management by supervising staff, scheduling shifts, providing training on food production techniques, and fostering a positive work environment. Plan menus that highlight fresh seafood options while catering to dietary restrictions and customer preferences. Coordinate with vendors to ensure the procurement of high-quality seafood products at optimal costs. Maintain compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers. Support catering events and banquet functions by preparing seafood dishes that impress guests in fine dining settings. Implement cost control measures to optimize profitability without compromising quality or service standards. Lead efforts in customer service excellence by serving as a knowledgeable resource on seafood offerings and culinary techniques. Experience Proven supervising experience in a culinary or hospitality setting, preferably within seafood markets or fine dining establishments. Extensive culinary experience with a focus on seafood preparation, cooking techniques, menu planning, and food presentation. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams as a chef or kitchen manager within the food industry. Strong background in food safety sanitizing procedures, inventory management, and cost control strategies. Experience in catering or banquet service environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with restaurant management practices including shift management, inventory control, and food service operations. Previous roles involving restaurant or hospitality management that showcase your ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
