Catering & Events Manager Pay:
From $68,000 + annually

In person Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Catering & Events Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of off-site catering events while also building and developing a strong event service team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, client-focused, and confident leading people in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The Catering & Events Manager will serve as a key connection between clients, culinary teams, event staff, vendors, and internal operations to ensure every event is properly planned, staffed, and executed to a high standard. A major part of this role will be recruiting, training, developing, and retaining a dependable team of event servers, bartenders, and event support staff . The right candidate will be comfortable setting expectations, coaching employees, creating accountability, and building a team that consistently delivers professional and high-quality service. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process. Manage event details from start to finish, including menus, timelines, staffing, rentals, equipment, transportation, setup, service, and breakdown. Build, develop, and maintain a reliable team of event servers, bartenders, captains, and support staff. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training event employees. Develop team members through ongoing coaching, feedback, and hands-on training. Establish clear service standards and expectations for event staff. Identify staffing needs and ensure events are appropriately staffed based on size, service style, and client expectations. Create clear and detailed event plans and communicate all requirements to culinary, operations, and event teams. Review event orders and final details in advance to identify potential issues, special requests, or operational needs. Coordinate with chefs, servers, bartenders, event managers, drivers, vendors, and other team members to ensure seamless execution. Provide strong on-site leadership and direction during events when needed. Manage multiple events and changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Respond professionally to client requests, changes, and last-minute needs. Support event profitability by monitoring staffing levels, rentals, equipment, and other event-related costs. Identify appropriate opportunities to recommend additional services or enhancements. Maintain accurate client, staffing, and event information within company systems. Ensure events meet company standards for service, presentation, food safety, alcohol service, and guest experience. Address performance or service concerns promptly and professionally. Conduct post-event follow-up and communicate client feedback, operational concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Help develop and improve event procedures, training programs, service standards, and operational processes. Qualifications Previous experience in catering, hospitality, banquet operations, event planning, or event management required. Experience managing or coordinating off-site catering events strongly preferred. Previous experience leading, training, or developing hospitality or event staff required. Ability to build and maintain a dependable event team. Strong understanding of catering logistics, staffing, setup, service, and breakdown. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold team members accountable. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple events, employees, and deadlines simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional, polished, and client-focused approach. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure. Experience working with event management software, CRM systems, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office preferred. Experience with event budgets, staffing costs, contracts, vendors, or cost control is a plus. Ability to work effectively with culinary, operations, sales, and service teams. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on the event schedule.
