Job Description
Banquet Manager Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Banquet Manager to lead the planning and execution of weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, and other special functions. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring every event is executed seamlessly, efficiently, and to the highest standards of service. The ideal candidate is a confident hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and can effectively lead a service team while building positive relationships with clients, vendors, and internal departments. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of banquets, weddings, private events, meetings, and special functions, member events. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact during events, ensuring all details are executed according to the event plan and client expectations. Lead, train, schedule, and motivate banquet staff to provide exceptional food and beverage service. Conduct pre-event meetings and service briefings to communicate timelines, menus, room setups, guest expectations, and special requests. Coordinate closely with culinary, event sales, facilities, and other departments to ensure smooth event operations. Oversee room setups, table arrangements, décor placement, service stations, and breakdowns. Monitor food and beverage service to ensure quality, presentation, timing, and proper service standards. Maintain a professional presence throughout events and respond promptly to guest or client needs. Address service issues or unexpected challenges calmly and effectively. Assist with event timelines, staffing requirements, floor plans, and operational planning. Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company service standards. Monitor banquet supplies, equipment, and inventory needs. Assist with labor management and control of event-related operating costs. Provide coaching and ongoing training to banquet team members. Support the sales and events team with client walkthroughs, tastings, planning meetings, and special event preparations as needed. Ensure event spaces are properly maintained before, during, and after each function. Qualifications 2+ years of banquet, event, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality management experience preferred. Previous experience supervising or leading a service team. Strong knowledge of banquet and event service standards. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple events, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. Professional, polished, and guest-focused demeanor. Ability to remain calm and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience. Proficiency with scheduling, event management, and/or point-of-sale systems is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when events require. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events. Ability to lift and move banquet equipment, tables, chairs, and supplies as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain physically active throughout event operations.
