About the Role Lobster Claw Seafood Restaurant in North Reading, MA is hiring a Restaurant Manager to help lead daily restaurant operations and support our front of house and back of house team. This Restaurant Manager position is responsible for overseeing shift execution, team accountability, order accuracy, customer service, cash handling procedures, scheduling, food quality, cleanliness and overall restaurant flow. This role is best suited for someone with restaurant management experience , preferably in a seafood restaurant , who can lead a team, stay organized and keep service running smoothly during busy periods. Candidates with experience as a Food Service Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager, Shift Manager or Restaurant Operations Manager may also be a strong fit. About Lobster Claw The Lobster Claw has been a North Reading staple since 1976. We are a family owned seafood restaurant with loyal customers who have been coming back for decades. In 2025, we completed a full renovation, updating our layout, kitchen flow, dining room and adding a beer and wine counter. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily restaurant operations, including kitchen flow, counter service, dining room service, takeout orders and guest experience Lead, coach and hold front of house and back of house restaurant staff accountable during each shift Enforce restaurant policies, standard operating procedures, service standards and shift expectations Create and manage employee schedules to ensure proper staffing for lunch, dinner, night, weekend and peak service periods Maintain schedule integrity by making sure posted schedules are followed and coverage changes are handled properly Monitor cash handling, register procedures, drawer counts, deposits and end of shift cash accountability Maintain high standards for food quality, seafood freshness, portion control, presentation, cleanliness and customer service Monitor food safety, sanitation, labeling, storage, product rotation and health code compliance throughout the restaurant Improve order accuracy by making sure tickets, sides, sauces, condiments and customer requests are completed correctly Support seafood focused kitchen operations, including fried seafood, grilled items, sandwiches, salads, prep, expo and order accuracy Communicate with cooks, prep staff, counter staff, servers, expo and kitchen team members to keep service running efficiently Handle customer questions, concerns and feedback in a professional, friendly and solution focused manner Help reduce customer complaints by maintaining quality control and checking orders before they leave the restaurant Track employee performance, attendance, shift readiness, teamwork and overall service standards Help manage restaurant inventory, food ordering, stocking, vendor deliveries and product quality checks Monitor food costs, waste, portion control, labor needs and daily operating expenses Ensure opening, closing, cleaning, cash-handling and end-of-shift procedures are completed accurately Maintain a safe, organized, respectful and accountable work environment for all restaurant employees Support responsible beer and wine service procedures and compliance requirements where applicable Step in where needed during busy shifts to support kitchen operations, guest service, order flow and team performance Take initiative to solve daily operational issues and help reduce the owner's front line management burden Qualifications 2+ years of restaurant management or restaurant leadership experience required Seafood restaurant management experience preferred Experience managing restaurant shifts, employees, schedules and daily operations Strong cash handling, register oversight and end of shift reconciliation experience Ability to enforce restaurant policies, procedures and quality standards consistently Strong attention to order accuracy, customer service, cleanliness and food quality Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, storage, labeling and health code standards Ability to lead, coach and hold team members accountable in a professional manner Experience handling customer concerns, service issues and online review related complaints preferred Strong communication, organization, problem solving and leadership skills Reliable transportation required U.S. work authorization required Must be at least 18 years old Ability to work day, night and weekend shifts as needed Ability to stay calm, professional and effective in a busy restaurant environment Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Flexible scheduling Paid training Free or discounted meals Health insurance Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to bend, reach, lift, stock and use restaurant equipment Ability to work around fryers, hot equipment, seafood, cold storage and standard restaurant conditions Ability to move between kitchen, counter, dining room, storage and service areas during busy shifts Ability to work in a busy seafood restaurant environment Equal Opportunity Employer Lobster Claw Seafood Restaurant is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
