Food Services Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Food Services Manager to lead our kitchen operations within a senior center of a senior citizens housing complex. As the Food Services Manager, you will oversee daily food service activities, manage staff, order food and materials needed, create weekly menus monthly and ensure compliance with health standards. Your leadership will foster a positive dining experience while maintaining efficient operations aligned with organizational goals. This role is salary based and this position can accommodate someone who is looking to work around a school schedule. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm. The hours of the position are flexible, and we are looking for approximately 30 to 34 hours a week.

Qualifications:

Certification:

Food Safety certification, required

Experience:

Previous experience cooking in a similar environment, working under pressure in a fast-paced setting; ability to lead a team effectively

• Physical requirements: Lifting trays and dishes, occasionally moving dining tables and furniture

Communication:

An ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers

• Training and supervision of all department associates
• Maintaining and ordering inventory of food, supplies and equipment
• Managing the budget
• Creating weekly menus, a month in advance
• Preparing and serving food/refreshments
• Working with Activities team to provide coffee, muffins or treats for 3 monthly events on site.
• Ensuring the cleanliness and smooth functioning of the kitchen and dining room to provide a gracious dining experience for residents

Pay:

From $46,000.00 per year
