GENERAL MANAGER Full-Time • Salaried • On-Site — Frederick, MD Fire & Oak Culinary Tavern is looking for an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead our front-of-house and overall restaurant operations. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the culture and standards of a growing, chef-driven tavern in the heart of Frederick — someone who can balance guest experience, team leadership, and the business side of running a great restaurant. What You'll Do Oversee daily front-of-house and overall restaurant operations, ensuring a consistently excellent guest experience Recruit, hire, train, and develop a strong front-of-house and support staff, working closely with kitchen leadership Manage scheduling, labor costs, and staffing levels to match business needs Own P&L responsibility — track and manage budgets, food and labor costs, and overall profitability Maintain compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations Handle guest concerns and service recovery with professionalism and care Partner with ownership on vendor relationships, inventory, and purchasing Set the tone for a positive, accountable team culture on the floor Support marketing, private events, and community engagement efforts What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a full-service restaurant Proven ability to lead, train, and retain a strong team Strong financial acumen — comfortable managing budgets, labor, and cost controls Working knowledge of POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management Excellent communication skills and a calm, solutions-first approach under pressure Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain) and current TIPS/alcohol service certification What We Offer Competitive salary, commensurate with experience A leadership role with real input into how the restaurant runs A collaborative, chef-driven environment focused on quality and craft Opportunity to grow with an established and expanding local restaurant group
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
