Job Description
The Portland Sheraton at Sable Oaks, a Colwen Hotels property, is looking for a dynamic, passionate, and results-driven General Manager to lead our hotel and team to the next level. This is an opportunity for a leader who believes the best way to lead is to be present, be engaged, and roll up your sleeves. You won't be managing from behind a desk. You'll be visible throughout the hotel, working alongside your team, connecting with guests, solving problems, and making sure every department has what it needs to succeed. As General Manager, you'll have a direct impact on guest satisfaction, associate engagement, operational excellence, and financial performance. From Front Office and Housekeeping to Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Sales, you'll bring the entire operation together around one goal: delivering an outstanding hotel experience while building a high-performing, engaged team. What You'll Do Lead the entire hotel operation across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Sales. Be a highly visible, hands-on leader who inspires the team and steps in wherever needed to ensure the hotel runs at its best. Drive exceptional guest service, satisfaction, quality, and operational standards every day. Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term business plans and budgets aligned with company goals. Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to maximize revenue, profitability, and market performance. Build a deep understanding of the local market, including demand generators, competitors, and opportunities to strengthen the hotel's community presence. Recruit, develop, coach, and retain talented hospitality professionals. Create meaningful training and development opportunities that help associates grow their skills and careers. Foster a professional, respectful, collaborative, and fun workplace where people feel valued and empowered to succeed. Champion associate recognition and engagement initiatives. Build strong relationships across every department and lead with open, consistent communication. Conduct daily property walks and inspections to ensure cleanliness, product quality, safety, and service standards are consistently achieved. Partner closely with Finance to maintain strong financial discipline, internal controls, and compliance with company policies. Ensure consistent adherence to all Sheraton and Colwen Hotels standards . What We're Looking For We're looking for a leader who brings energy, accountability, hospitality, and heart to the role. You'll be a strong fit if you have: 3+ years of hotel management experience , preferably with lifestyle or comparable full-service brands. Prior brand experience preferred. A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage operations . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A highly organized, detail-oriented approach. A self-motivated, results-driven mindset. The ability to think creatively, solve problems quickly, and confidently manage multiple priorities.
