Job description: General Manager Job Description Company Overview We are a high-volume sports bar and grill, a neighbor favorite for families and individuals to celebrate a special occasion, catch a big game, enjoy a nice motorcycle ride, or just have lunch or dinner. With many TV's showing games and events, there is never a dull moment. We provide a fast paced and exciting environment staff to be successful. Job Summary The General Manager will handle our high-volume, full-service bar restaurant. You will be accountable for the financial and operational performance of the restaurant. As the General Manager you will build, coach, manage and develop teams from a staffing, interviewing, hiring, and training standpoint. You will also ensure the restaurant follows all local, state, and federal regulations. As the General Manager, you must have excellent team leadership and customer service skills. You must also exemplify integrity and accountability at the managerial level. This role has a heavy focus on operations. Performance & Duties
- Establishes restaurant business plans by surveying restaurant demands.
- Manage the FOH and BOH team while creating a positive work environment.
- Attracts patrons by working with our marketing team to develop advertising, public and community programs and events.
- In collaboration with management team, manage and be accountable for the restaurant financials, take an eager interest in the P&L's
- Strong knowledge of front and back of the house operations including food, beverages, staff, supervision, inventory, inventory controls, and food safety.
- Ability to work in any position at any given time.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry.
- Controls FOH purchases and inventory by meeting with account managers.
- Maintains operations by following standard procedures, aiming for consistent productivity and quality.
- Strong understanding of cost and labor systems that lead to restaurant profitability.
- Accomplishes restaurant and bar human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and on-going staff development.
- Take full responsibility for the Restaurant and Bar during allocated floor shifts to create exceptional guest experience. Be on the floor and communicate with guests during service. Must be able to rectify guest complaints.
- Responsible for guest satisfaction with their food quality and service.
- Manage hiring, assess training needs of team, create/revise training material for staff and managers; strategize for overall success, assist in preparing the team with operational best practices. Oversee implantations of opening/closing checklist for key hourly positions and managers. Schedule hands-on training and assessments.
- Understand, follow, and enforce sanitation standards and procedures complying with health and legal regulations. Maintain security systems. Identify potential safety hazards/maintenance issues and work to rectify.
- Assigns duties and duties and responsibilities to employees depending on the needs of the restaurant.
- Make sure all areas of the restaurant and bar are stocked, clean, and in proper working order.
- Keep your employees motivated, resolve conflicts, and make hard decisions.
- Create schedules.
- Maintain documentation in employee personnel files. Daily Duties Opening
- Must be able to accurately & efficiently count monies, run reports with Aloha computer knowledge
- Cash drawers for the day
- Payroll
- Bank deposit runs
- Journal entries into Peachtree
- Sales reports for deposits - based off entries
- Pay bills
- Float the floor
- Fill in when needed
- Expo on the line as needed
- Manage Keno and Pull Tabs Closing/Mid Shift Change
- Count drawers
- Check out bartenders and servers
- Run bar reports Once a week
- Run Keno and Pull Tab machine reports - double check numbers
- Order liquor and check orders in
- Sign for deliveries and verify invoices
- Set up banquets
- Make weekly schedules
- Ensure bar is stocked, rotated, check for non-movers
- EFT's liquor orders
- Check side work
- Liaise with the band booker
- Liaise with marketing manager
- Plan events
