Back of House Manager / Kitchen Manager Working Role - On the
Line Location:
Coldwater, MI Trainwreck Grill & Ale House Full-Time | In-Person About the Job Trainwreck Grill & Ale House has a very rewarding position available for a high-performing individual ready to take ownership of our back-of-house operation. We're looking for a Back of House Manager / Kitchen Manager who actually works the line with the team —not someone who manages from the office. Trainwreck Grill & Ale House is a busy, established restaurant with solid systems in place. We need someone who can step in, lead by example, develop the team, and keep the kitchen running tight during every shift. If you're the type who jumps in during a rush, keeps standards high, holds people accountable, and earns respect from your team by how you work, this could be a great fit. What You'll Do Work the line during peak hours and help set the pace Lead and manage the back-of-house team Train and develop line cooks and kitchen staff Keep food quality, presentation, and ticket times consistent Handle ordering, inventory, and prep levels Manage food cost and minimize waste Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards Ensure kitchen systems and procedures are consistently followed Hold the team accountable while maintaining a strong, productive kitchen culture Help build, develop, and retain a high-performing kitchen team What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of restaurant experience required Minimum 1 year of kitchen management, sous chef, or comparable leadership experience required Strong line experience with the ability to handle high-volume service Someone who leads by example—not from the sidelines Strong understanding of food cost, inventory, prep, and kitchen systems Reliable, organized, and steady under pressure Team-focused with strong communication and leadership skills Available to work a mix of days, nights, and weekends Valid driver's license required Pay & Benefits $50,000 - $70,000 base salary , based on experience $10,000 - $40,000 annual bonus opportunity Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off Employee discounts For a strong performer, this position offers the opportunity to earn $60,000 to $110,000 annually based on salary and bonus performance. Schedule 5-day work week Mix of days, nights, and weekends Full-time, in-person position Final Note This is a hands-on leadership role . You'll be in the kitchen, in the middle of the action, leading the team and helping drive the performance of the entire back-of-house operation. We're looking for someone who takes pride in running a great kitchen, developing good people, controlling costs, and delivering a consistently great product.
