Job Description

About Our Household We're a family of five in Holland, MI. Our two school-age boys are homeschooled, and our toddler is in part-time daycare. We also have two dogs and a separate cleaning service that handles deep cleaning. Between running a home-education schedule and managing a busy household, we're looking for reliable, independent help with the logistics of keeping the house running — groceries, laundry, meal prep, and general organization — so we can focus our energy on teaching and family time.

Important:

This Is Not a Childcare Role This position does not include supervising, entertaining, or caring for our children in any capacity, at any time. Our boys may be present in the home during your visits — engaged in their own schoolwork or free time — but you are not responsible for them. You'll work independently, primarily in the kitchen, laundry, and common areas of the home. Key Responsibilities Laundry Wash, dry, fold, and put away household laundry Change and rotate bed linens Maintain a tidy, well-stocked laundry area Meal Prep & Snacks A mix of prepped components (chopped, assembled, ready to cook) and, on occasion, a fully cooked simple dinner — exact balance worked out together Aim for 3-4 meals/components prepped per week Prepare kid-friendly snacks as time allows Clean up kitchen after prep Tidying (each visit) General tidy pass of common areas: dishes, surfaces, high-traffic spots Light reset ahead of our cleaning service's scheduled visits (this is a light-touch role — our cleaning service handles deep cleaning) Groceries Maintain and add to our running household/grocery list Pick up groceries curbside or in-store Put away and organize groceries after each trip; maintain pantry and fridge organization systems Pet Care Occasional dog walks / backyard let-outs Occasional help coordinating vet or grooming appointments

As Time Allows Errands:

returns, dry cleaning, and similar Light vehicle tidy — clear trash, wipe down interior Seasonal/closet organization (clothing rotation as kids grow, storage projects) Coordinate donation drop-offs (paired with closet rotation) Assist with packing/unpacking after family trips Help prepping for events, home projects, or whatever pops up that week What We're Looking For Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight or direction Respectful of a home where children are present but not part of your role Comfortable around a friendly household dog Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality Prior experience in household management, meal prep, or a similar role preferred Comfortable in a home with school-age kids doing schoolwork nearby
