Job Description

Position Description:
This is currently a part-time position for up to 30 hours per week. Manager provides overall management, planning and leadership of the North St Paul Area Food Shelf. Reports directly to the Board of Directors. Works with the board to establish policies and programs and administers such programs. Interprets the organization's purpose and programs to outside organizations and the public. Develops and administers standards and procedures related to human resources (including staff and volunteer development), budget and physical facilities. Prepares, distributes, and maintains a variety of reports. May direct or coordinate fundraising. Duties include but are not limited to: Developing and maintaining relationships with community groups such as faith organizations, schools, civic organizations, local businesses and others. Work with these and other groups and agencies to promote the Food Shelf and our mission by participating in events and presentations to local groups. Maintain relationship with Second Harvest, TEFAP and other state and federal organizations for continued support of our mission. Includes required monthly status reports to these agencies. Search for grant opportunities for all our needs. Maintain volunteer staffing schedules for necessary coverage. Schedule and manage training for all staff and volunteers including mandatory training for food handling, civil rights and other topics. Work with Treasurer to prepare annual budget for the Food Shelf. Monitor expenses.
