Compensation Base Salary:
$55,000 - $70,000 annually Additional compensation through event bonuses Managers can typically expect to oversee 30-60 events annually Opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization Position Summary As a Catering Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, staffing, and execution of catering events from initial client inquiry through final event completion. You will work alongside three other Catering Managers to manage event logistics, lead event staff, coordinate with kitchen operations, maintain client relationships, and ensure every event is executed at the highest level. This position combines event management, hospitality leadership, client relations, and sales responsibilities. While weddings make up the majority of our business, you will also oversee corporate functions, conferences, fundraisers, private parties, funerals, and other special events. Schedule Expectations This position requires a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on event schedules. Wedding season and peak event periods may require extended hours. Event coverage responsibilities are shared among the catering management team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Event Planning & Execution Manage and supervise assigned catering events from setup through breakdown Ensure events are executed according to client expectations and Bella Vida service standards Coordinate event logistics, timelines, staffing plans, and equipment needs Troubleshoot and resolve issues during events in a professional and timely manner Ensure events begin on schedule and maintain a high level of guest satisfaction Oversee event setup, service, cleanup, and breakdown activities Client Relations & Sales Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process Respond to catering inquiries and assist prospective clients Conduct consultations and event planning meetings Create catering proposals, pricing quotes, and event contracts Lead wedding tastings and menu presentations Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and business accounts Assist in generating new catering business opportunities and growing existing accounts Team Leadership Recruit, train, and develop catering associates Schedule event staff based on event requirements Direct temporary and part-time staff during events Train employees in service techniques, menu presentation, customer service, and safety procedures Promote a positive and professional team environment Operations & Inventory Management Coordinate transportation and setup of catering equipment and supplies Maintain inventory of catering equipment, serving ware, and event materials Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company policies Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to execute menus and service plans Assist with operational improvements that enhance efficiency and service quality Administrative Responsibilities Manage event documentation, contracts, and planning records Maintain accurate event schedules, staffing plans, and client communications Assist with budgeting, food cost awareness, and operational reporting Utilize Microsoft Office applications and other business tools as needed Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications 2+ years of hospitality, catering, restaurant, event management, or related experience Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience preferred Previous catering experience required Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments Financial, budgeting, and basic business management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Wedding or large-event management experience Experience leading teams in hospitality or food service environments Experience in hospitality sales or business development Strong event planning and organizational experience Knowledge of current food, beverage, and catering industry trends Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Successful Catering Managers consistently: Deliver exceptional event experiences Build strong relationships with clients and business partners Lead and develop high-performing event teams Execute events with professionalism and attention to detail Maintain operational excellence and food safety standards Contribute to the continued growth and success of the catering business
