Executive Meeting & Catering Manager Camden on the Lake Resort Position Summary The Executive Meeting & Catering Manager at Camden on the Lake Resort is responsible for generating, developing, contracting, and servicing group, social, meeting, and catering business for the resort. This position focuses on building strong client relationships, increasing group and catering revenue, and ensuring each booked event is accurately planned and communicated from the initial sales process through event execution. Primary markets include weddings, wedding-related events, bachelorette parties, fraternities, military groups and reunions, associations, local businesses, social gatherings, celebrations, and other group events. The Executive Meeting & Catering Manager will actively develop business-to-business relationships throughout the Lake of the Ozarks area and surrounding markets and will represent Camden on the Lake Resort at appropriate trade shows, networking events, industry events, and community functions. This position is also responsible for preparing complete and accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for every client and each individual event, ensuring all resort departments have the information necessary to successfully execute the client's event. The Executive Meeting & Catering Manager reports to the Director of Sales. Major Responsibilities Group, Meeting & Catering Sales Develop and maintain group, meeting, social, and catering business to meet or exceed established revenue goals. Solicit new business through prospecting, relationship development, referrals, networking, sales calls, trade shows, and business-to-business outreach. Identify and cultivate key accounts and new revenue opportunities within assigned markets. Maintain relationships with existing clients while actively pursuing repeat and referral business. Respond to inquiries and sales leads in a timely and professional manner. Qualify prospective clients to determine event requirements, guest room needs, meeting space, catering requirements, budget, and overall expectations. Conduct resort tours and site visits for prospective and confirmed clients. Prepare proposals, contracts, pricing, and event agreements within established resort guidelines. Negotiate group and catering business while protecting the resort's revenue goals and profitability. Maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales process to convert qualified leads into definite business. Maintain accurate records of client communications, contracts, deposits, deadlines, and event details. Event Planning & BEO Management Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the planning process. Gather complete event details, including timelines, room setup, food and beverage selections, audiovisual requirements, décor, entertainment, guest counts, special requests, and other operational needs. Create a complete and accurate Banquet Event Order (BEO) for every individual event associated with each client or group. Ensure BEOs clearly communicate all event requirements to Banquets, Culinary, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, Accounting, and other applicable departments. Review BEOs with clients and obtain final approvals, guarantees, menu selections, and other required information by established deadlines. Make timely BEO revisions and communicate changes to all affected departments. Participate in BEO and operational meetings as required. Ensure contracts, deposits, payment arrangements, rooming lists, guarantees, and event deadlines are completed according to resort policies. Work closely with the Banquet and Culinary teams to ensure event details are realistic, clearly communicated, and properly executed. Provide professional follow-up after events and cultivate opportunities for repeat business. Revenue & Account Management Work toward established group room, meeting, banquet, and catering revenue goals. Understand the resort's available inventory, meeting space, catering capabilities, pricing, and group opportunities. Identify need dates and opportunities where group, social, or catering business can generate incremental revenue. Understand competing resorts and venues, including their meeting facilities, catering offerings, pricing, strengths, and weaknesses. Maintain an active pipeline of prospective, tentative, and definite business. Provide accurate sales activity, booking, and revenue information to the Director of Sales. Continually identify opportunities to increase guest room, meeting space, food and beverage, and ancillary revenue associated with each group. Candidate Qualifications Prior relevant sales, catering, event planning, or hospitality experience required. Hospitality, resort, hotel, catering, wedding, or convention sales experience strongly preferred. Experience creating and managing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) preferred. Strong sales and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Outgoing, professional, and confident personality. Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple clients and events simultaneously while maintaining accuracy. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Comfortable conducting outside sales calls, attending networking functions, and representing the resort at trade shows and community events. Ability to work collaboratively with Banquets, Culinary, Front Desk, Reservations, Accounting, and other resort departments. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary for client appointments, site visits, trade shows, networking functions, and major events. In addition to base salary, the position is eligible for commissions based on qualifying definite bookings and compensation on food and beverage revenue generated for Camden on the Lake Resort in accordance with the resort's established commission structure.
