POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager-in-Training is a leadership development position designed for an individual who wants to build a career in restaurant management and become a future General Manager. The MIT will learn and demonstrate the skills necessary to lead a successful QDOBA restaurant, including food safety, guest service, restaurant operations, team leadership, staffing, inventory, cost control, training, and sales growth . Food safety and operational excellence are non-negotiable. The MIT is expected to lead by example and ensure that QDOBA standards are followed consistently on every shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY
Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness. Follow all QDOBA food safety procedures and local health regulations. Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, rotation, and temperature control. Complete required food safety and temperature checks accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready restaurant. Immediately address food safety or sanitation concerns. Lead the team by demonstrating proper food safety practices at all times.
RESTAURANT OPERATIONS
Learn and execute QDOBA operating standards and procedures. Assist with opening and closing the restaurant. Maintain proper food preparation and product availability. Monitor restaurant cleanliness and overall appearance. Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, and product rotation. Help control food, labor, and operating costs. Ensure the restaurant is properly staffed for business demands. Learn to analyze restaurant performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT
Lead shifts with confidence, professionalism, and urgency. Train, coach, and develop team members. Hold employees accountable to company standards. Provide positive recognition and constructive feedback. Help create a team culture based on teamwork, respect, accountability, and high performance. Lead by example and maintain a positive attitude during busy periods. Develop the leadership skills necessary to become a successful General Manager.
GUEST SERVICE
Deliver an exceptional guest experience. Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly. Ensure food quality, accuracy, speed, and hospitality meet QDOBA standards. Build relationships with regular guests and the local community. Identify opportunities to improve guest satisfaction and restaurant traffic.
SALES & RESTAURANT GROWTH
Understand the financial performance of the restaurant. Learn how sales, transactions, average check, labor, and food costs impact profitability. Help identify opportunities to increase sales and traffic. Support local restaurant marketing and community outreach efforts. Take ownership of opportunities to grow the business.

QUALIFICATIONS
Previous restaurant, retail, hospitality, or leadership experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. Food safety certification may be required or must be obtained as required by company or local regulations. Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and guests. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of working in a restaurant environment.

$56,000.00 - $61,000.00 per year
