Job Description
This is a tipped position that typically adds $3-4 per hour to base pay. Automatic 5% pay increase on January 1st of each year. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic food service team. This tipped position offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary excellence, team leadership, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. As an integral part of our management team, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure food quality and safety standards are met, and support staff training and development. Your leadership will help create a lively, efficient, and welcoming environment that keeps guests coming back for more. Duties Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality standards are maintained Support the management of inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste through effective stock management Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations and sanitation standards Supervise kitchen staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to foster a motivated team environment Assist with shift management by coordinating staff schedules, ensuring proper coverage during busy hours Contribute to restaurant management tasks such as budgeting, cost control, and maintaining operational efficiency Participate in interviewing and onboarding new team members to build a skilled and cohesive workforce Support catering, banquet, or special event food production as needed to meet customer expectations Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within quick service or fast food restaurants Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in hospitality or restaurant management roles Excellent customer service skills with the ability to create a positive dining experience for guests Familiarity with inventory control practices and food safety regulations Ability to train staff effectively in culinary techniques, food safety standards, and service procedures Experience with shift management, team management, and interviewing potential new hires Knowledge of food industry best practices across casual dining, fine dining, catering or hotel environments Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and foster a positive work environment Join us as an Assistant Kitchen Manager where your culinary expertise and leadership will drive success!
