  • 52,000 annual salary based on experience
Summary:
The kitchen manager will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations as well as ensuring the highest levels of food quality and customer satisfaction. The kitchen manager must be an expert at balancing the needs of the team, guests, community, and ownership. The kitchen manager is the leader in the kitchen and takes responsibility for delivering the financial and qualitative measurements of success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain consistency and quality of a high performing menu Create specials menus for brand events Manage all kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling Monitor food inventory and ordering supplies as needed Maintain the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation standards Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure consistent high-quality dishes Manage food costs and kitchen expenses to maintain profitability and efficiency Collaborate with management to create a cohesive dining experience for customers Stay up-to-date on industry trends and techniques, and incorporate new ideas into menu planning and kitchen operations
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a kitchen manager or assistant kitchen manager in a high-volume brewpub or restaurant environment Passion for culinary arts Passion for the beer and beverage industry Strong leadership, management, and communication skills Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment Proficient in menu planning, recipe building, food cost control, and inventory management Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, hospitality, hotel management, business administration, or related field or equivalent work experience (preferred) 2+ years in a kitchen management role (required) ServSafe (required)
Work Environment:
Kitchen environment, including hot areas, hot equipment, coolers, freezers, sharp knives Office environment Fast-paced, high-volume
Physical Demands:
While performing job duties the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, lift, talk, and hear The employee is required to be on foot for a large portion of the shift The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch Must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds overheard When performing office functions, the employee may be required to sit and work directly on a computer for long periods of time
