Job Description

Great Circle Catering (GCC) is the Seacoast area's premier full-service caterer. GCC operates as a commissary kitchen for corporate catering, social events, food trucks, kiosks, general aviation and military troop flights. We are currently hiring for a full-time Kitchen Manager for our growing company. The full-time Kitchen Manager will oversee the commissary kitchen of Great Circle Catering, leading by example to improve and implement procedures and best practices. As a leader in the kitchen, you will embody a unique mix of culinary experience, management of a diverse group of employees, financial acumen, and an unwavering commitment to the principles of hospitality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Manage all culinary staff in day-to-day kitchen operations, working closely with the Production Manager and Culinary Director to ensure the highest quality ? Oversee all food preparation for all daily catering operations, paying close attention to quality, presentation, and accuracy of orders ? Assign duties and fill out all daily prep and pull sheets, communicating with kitchen staff about forecasted needs and which products will be used for each recipe ? Supervise all prep and production, providing quality control for all food leaving the GCC kitchen for orders and events ? Oversee all kitchen cleanliness and daily standard sanitation practices ? Establish and oversee daily, weekly, monthly kitchen cleaning schedule ? Work with Culinary Director to schedule staff based on daily and weekly needs ? Work closely with the Culinary Director in daily ordering based on upcoming events, kiosk needs, and military catering needs ? Assist Culinary Director with all new menu and recipe development based on seasonal menu changes and available products ? Assist with receiving orders and putting away product if needed, always practicing FIFO ? Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers ? Maintain organized food storage areas and utilize space accordingly ? Cook and cover shifts when needed ? Work to reduce waste, COGS, and Labor costs ? Communicate professionally and respectfully with all employees, vendors, clients, and visitors ? Remain flexible and fluid through changing and challenging situations
Required Skills/Abilities:
? Verifiable career path of 3-5 years of culinary leadership ? High volume catering experience ? Serve Safe Manager Certification or able to obtain upon hire ? Microsoft Office Proficiency ? Experience with Inventory Management and scheduling software ? Ability to work a flexible schedule ? Willingness to learn and be cross-trained in all aspects of GCC's culinary program ? Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure ? Ability to work independently and as part of a team ? You must have attention to detail and the ability to prepare and present quality food ? Must pass a drug screen and background check
Physical Requirements :
? Ability to lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs ? Ability to stand for long periods of time ? Ability to use standard kitchen equipment - slicer, dish machine, knives, ovens ?
