Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Restaurant General Manager to lead our team with passion and motivation. This is a
WORKING MANAGEMENT ROLE.
In this position, you will be a working part of the front of house team- ie- waiting tables, bartending etc. While still overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, operational excellence. Your leadership will drive the success of the restaurant by managing day to day operations, maintaining & enforcing high standards of food safety and quality, and fostering a positive work environment that motivates staff to deliver outstanding service & leads by example. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hard working management professional with a strong background in food service management and a passion for small business hospitality/customer service to make a significant impact in a family owned business. Responsibilities Lead the waitstaff team on our peak / busiest hours and supervise all restaurant operations, including front of house, bar, and overseeing/assisting kitchen manager when needed, oversee & coordinate service deliveries, and manage scheduling - with the assistance/final approval of ownership Oversee inventory control processes to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste, monitor food costs and ordering that kitchen manager processes, addressing discrepancies and price checking to lower food ordering costs Manage POS systems such as
SQUARE POS
for order processing, sales tracking, and reporting, as well as being able to problem solve any technical issues that arise during service with the POS Ensure adherence to food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and health regulations, ensuring the restaurant is kept as clean as possible at all times Train, develop, and mentor team members to uphold service excellence and operational standards Handle cash management duties including cash handling, reconciliation, and bank deposits (once trained & given OK by ownership) Conduct shift management duties to coordinate staffing schedules, monitor performance, and optimize customer flow- ie cutting employees when sales are slower than usual Help ownership go through food costs, bar cost, and supply costs to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction Foster a welcoming environment that promotes teamwork , hospitality, and guest satisfaction 100% of the time Covering in situations where staff is unable to find coverage or there is a last minute call out or no show, managers are expected to step up and step in, so that service is still able to be executed properly Skills Extensive experience in busy restaurant environments with a strong understanding of all restaurant aspects ie
FOH, BOH, BAR
Proven management skills with experience supervising and leading kitchen operations Proficiency in POS systems such as
SQUARE POS
; basic math skills for financial transactions and reporting Knowledge of food safety management practices including standards and sanitation protocols to oversee kitchen management and hold accountable when asked to upkeep the kitchen to standards Strong leadership abilities with experience in team training, development, interviewing, and staff supervision as well as scheduling Ability and willingness to work with ownership as a united front, maintaining high moral standards amongst the team Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest and staff concerns professionally, calmly and respectfully Experience managing restaurant budgets, inventory control, catering operations, banquet services, and bar management preferred Ability to perform front of house tasks/waiting tables while maintaining high-quality standards in the restaurant day to day Effective communication skills for managing teams, conducting training sessions, and collaborating with staff at all levels Ability to adapt to a small and challenging restaurant environment that has a very high table turnover while sometimes needing to be creative and adaptive in execution in order to accommodate and serve people efficiently Join us as a General Manager at Lucky Dog Bistro where your leadership will inspire our team to deliver memorable dining experiences.
