Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar is looking for an experienced, energetic, and hospitality-driven Bar Manager to join our team in Huntington, NY. We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands that a great bar is about more than just making drinks. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, confident leading a team, knowledgeable about cocktails and spirits, and focused on delivering an exceptional guest experience while maintaining strong operational and financial controls. What You'll Do Bar Operations & Leadership Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring a high level of service, cleanliness, organization, and efficiency. Lead, train, coach, and develop bartenders and bar support staff. Create a positive, professional, and accountable bar culture. Ensure all bartenders and bar staff follow company policies, procedures, and service standards. Build and maintain effective staff schedules based on business needs, employee availability, and labor goals. Monitor attendance, punctuality, performance, and overall employee conduct. Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team regarding staffing, performance, and disciplinary matters. Lead by example and remain highly visible and engaged during service. Beverage Management Maintain extensive knowledge of tequila, mezcal, cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits. Ensure cocktails and beverages are prepared consistently according to company recipes and standards. Maintain proper pour standards and portion control. Assist with the development and execution of cocktail and beverage programs. Ensure proper presentation, garnishing, glassware, and overall beverage quality. Stay current on beverage trends and identify opportunities to enhance the bar program. Inventory & Cost Control Oversee weekly bar inventory and ensure accurate counts. Monitor liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and bar supply levels. Identify and reduce waste, spillage, over-pouring, breakage, and product loss. Maintain appropriate par levels and communicate ordering needs to management. Work toward established beverage cost and labor goals. Monitor comps, voids, discounts, and other transactions for accuracy and accountability. Help maintain strong beverage profitability while protecting product quality. Guest Experience Provide exceptional hospitality and ensure guests receive attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly service. Interact with guests and build relationships that encourage repeat business. Address guest concerns professionally and promptly. Ensure the bar atmosphere reflects the energy and hospitality standards of Rocco's Tacos. Support the front-of-house team during busy periods and assist wherever needed. Training & Development Train new bartenders and bar staff on company standards, recipes, service expectations, POS procedures, and responsible alcohol service. Conduct ongoing coaching and development with the bar team. Hold team members accountable for performance while maintaining a positive working environment. Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, specials, promotions, and operational updates. Compliance & Safety Ensure all employees follow applicable New York State and local regulations regarding alcohol service. Ensure proper identification and responsible alcohol service procedures are followed at all times. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized bar environment. Follow all company health, safety, sanitation, and workplace policies. Immediately report incidents, injuries, guest issues, or employee concerns to appropriate management. What We're Looking For Previous Bar Manager, Beverage Manager, Assistant Bar Manager, or strong Lead Bartender with at least 3 years of experience. Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, tequila, mezcal, beer, and wine. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-volume restaurant or nightlife environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Excellent guest service and hospitality skills. Strong understanding of beverage cost control and inventory management. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Strong attention to detail and accountability. Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during peak business periods. Must be able to obtain and maintain all required certifications applicable to the position. Why Join Rocco's Tacos?
