Job Description
FairPour Coffee Roasters is an exciting new cafe in the Iron Works building in Ithaca. We looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for the food industry, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and quality. As the Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, coordinating food preparation, and ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to. Responsibilities Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking processes. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and ensuring proper storage of food items. Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and sanitation practices. Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service during peak hours. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure high standards are met. Handle shift management duties, including scheduling staff and managing labor costs effectively. Experience Proven experience in food service management or a similar role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is essential. Previous experience in shift management or as an assistant manager is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team while maintaining a positive work environment.
