Night Shift Extrusion Lead Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

An Extrusion Lead Operator is responsible for their assigned shift. This includes all activities that happen on the shift with regards to running the department, and making sure all scheduled staff are on duty and at their work station. The Lead Operator is tasked with performing their assigned responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining product run rate and quality, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Qualifications Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes Skilled in quality inspection and use of precision measuring instruments Experience with hand tools, fabrication, and materials handling Basic math skills for measurements and calculations in production Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and warehouse operations Restarts extrusion lines in a timely manner Performs gauge changes and speed changes as needed Balances bubble and correct for error percentage Verifies receipt of resin and additives Initiates and participates in miscellaneous line problem solving Ensures regrind and reprocessed material are used when available Adhere to and comply with Company safety policies and procedures Assists the management team in maintaining quality system effectiveness Summary As an Extrusion Lead Operator, you will be essential in overseeing the extrusion process, ensuring high-quality production of plastic materials. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will utilize your mechanical knowledge and manufacturing expertise to operate and maintain extrusion machinery. Your proficiency in plastics extrusion, quality inspection, and programmable logic controllers will be vital in optimizing production efficiency.
