Job Description

Maitre' D / House Manager We are seeking an experienced and professional Maitre' D / House Manager to oversee the successful execution of weddings, private parties, corporate functions, and other special events. This position is responsible for supervising banquet staff, coordinating with the kitchen and management team, and serving as a key on-site point of contact for clients and their guests. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, confident, and able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in exceptional hospitality and understands that the client experience is just as important as the successful execution of the event . ResponsibilitiesStaff Supervision & Event Operations Supervise waiters, waitresses, bartenders, and banquet service staff during events. Assign staff sections and responsibilities based on the needs of each event. Conduct pre-service briefings covering event details, timelines, menu items, special requests, and service expectations. Train and assist new staff in banquet service and customer service standards. Communicate with kitchen and bar staff regarding menu changes, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests. Ensure tables, place settings, and event spaces are properly prepared before guests arrive. Monitor food and beverage service and ensure the event stays on schedule. Address staffing or operational issues quickly and professionally. Oversee cleanup, breakdown, and resetting of the venue following each event. Client & Guest Relations Serve as the primary on-site contact for the client, wedding couple, event host, or designated representative. Welcome and assist clients and guests throughout the event, providing a professional and attentive presence. Review event details and special requests with the client before service begins. Respond to client requests, special accommodations, and last-minute changes whenever possible. Anticipate client and guest needs and ensure a high level of hospitality throughout the event. Handle guest or client concerns calmly and professionally, taking appropriate action to resolve issues. Communicate client requests and changes clearly to the appropriate staff and management. Event Coordination Work with clients and event coordinators to understand the specific requirements of each event. Monitor event timelines, including cocktail hour, dinner service, speeches, cake cutting, special presentations, and other scheduled activities. Coordinate with staff when the event schedule or client requests change. Ensure VIP guests, dietary needs, and other special arrangements are properly communicated and handled. Maintain high service standards from guest arrival through departure and venue reset. Basic Qualifications Previous experience as a Maitre d', House Manager, Banquet Manager, Operations Manager, Captain, or similar hospitality leadership role preferred. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to confidently interact with clients, guests, staff, vendors, and management. Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced event environment. Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for weddings and formal events. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying event schedules as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a banquet facility, catering company, wedding venue, hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment. Experience with weddings, Sweet Sixteens, birthdays, corporate events, and other private functions. Experience working directly with event hosts, wedding couples, families, or event planners. Knowledge of banquet service procedures, event timelines, and venue operations. Experience supervising and training front-of-house staff.
