Job Description

Bocage Champagne Bar is seeking a Bar Manager to run the floor and the back office in equal measure.
This is a hands-on role:
you'll work bar shifts alongside the team while also owning the administrative backbone that keeps the bar stocked, staffed, trained, and running smoothly day to day. You're the person guests are handed off to when something needs fixing, and the person the team looks to for how things should be done. What You'll Do Inventory & Ordering Manage day-to-day inventory counts and par levels for the location Place and track orders with distributors and vendors Requisition food, smallwares, and other supplies from the main office as needed Monitor cost of goods and flag variances or pricing issues Training & Standards Lead onboarding and ongoing training for bar staff, using and helping evolve Bocage's existing training materials Ensure the team maintains wine and service knowledge standards over time Own general maintenance and upkeep of the bar — equipment, glassware, cleanliness, and overall presentation Guest Experience Serve as the point of escalation for guest concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally Ensure every shift meets Bocage's service standards for this high-touch, guest-forward environment — from the first greeting through the pacing and detail of Champagne and wine service Uphold Bocage's hospitality standards across every shift Operations Ensure proper completion of opening/closing sidework and shift checklists Support scheduling and day-to-day floor management as needed What We're Looking For Wine knowledge: WSET Level 2 or CMS (Court of Master Sommeliers) Level 2 strongly preferred Prior experience in a bar management, assistant manager, or lead bartender role, ideally in a wine- or Champagne-focused environment Comfort splitting time between hands-on bar shifts and administrative/back-office work Strong organizational skills — able to manage inventory, ordering, and scheduling without things slipping A natural teacher: able to train and elevate a team's wine knowledge and service skills Even-keeled under pressure, with strong judgment in resolving guest concerns A sharp eye for detail and polish, with a genuine commitment to high-touch, guest-forward service Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Pay:
$30.00 - $50.00 per hour
