Ensure health and safety compliance, manage budgets and costs, and handle staff scheduling. Ensure efficient communication between kitchen and front-of-house, focusing on customer satisfaction and smooth kitchen function. Supervising and scheduling kitchen staff, including cooks and dishwashers. Training new employees on food preparation, safety, and kitchen procedures. Ensuring all food is prepared consistently according to recipes and quality standards. Monitoring food quality, presentation, and portion control. Managing inventory by ordering food, supplies, and kitchen equipment. Controlling food and labor costs to meet budget goals. Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Inspecting kitchen equipment and arranging repairs or maintenance when needed. Coordinating with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate service. Handling customer complaints related to food quality when necessary. Developing or assisting with menu planning and seasonal specials. Monitoring waste and implementing procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
