Immediately Job Description Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting in-district applications for the following positions for the 2026-2027 school year:
GRANTS PASS HIGH SCHOOL
Language Arts Core Leader
Pay:
$2,000 A valid Oregon Teaching License is required.
Department Leader Roles and Responsibilities:
Serve as the direct communication between administration and the department Facilitate collaboration within the department Run department meetings (usually one per month) that include norms and an agenda to department members and administration Manage department budget, approve requisitions and warehouse requests Provide input for the department on master scheduling Ensure course team time (usually scheduled once a month) has clear outcomes for each group Attend 8th grade parent night (or delegate to someone else who is willing) Support new staff to the department
  • start with August meeting Ensure new staff have an understanding of course content for subjects they are assigned (provide planned course statements, scope and sequence information, etc.
) Sharing like course grading practices for the department and assist the new staff member's understanding of how to set up PowerTeacher Pro Ensure they know how to get information about students from the intranet and PowerSchool Support questions related to Canvas and district expectations related to having courses set up in Canvas Review field trip request and guest speaker request forms Answer any questions new staff have related to printshop, or getting tech support Review the department budget and how new staff would request funds Let them know who to call at the school for what……. Check in with new staff frequently (i.e. every week or every other week) Attend department leader meetings as needed (usually 4 to 6 times per year) Facilitate textbook adoption processes in collaboration with the Director of Secondary Education. Ensure course planned course statements are current and that scope and sequence information is available. Serves on committees as needed that need department representation (example
  • scheduling committees, dress-code/cell-phone, etc.
) Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish preferred. Application materials will be accepted online until position is filled.
