Job Description

Cypress Restaurant is the food and beverage department of the Atticus Hotel, a locally owned, 36-room hotel in the heart of Historic Downtown McMinnville. We're looking for a Restaurant Manager to lead our front of house. You'll lead the team. You'll interview, hire, train, and coach the servers, hosts, and bartenders. You'll hold regular department meetings & give annual reviews. You'll document & give feedback. We want you to build a team that grows, so part of the job is finding each person's next step. You'll run the room. You'll manage the reservation platform and its third-party apps, the POS system, and the daily rhythm of service. You'll answer guest emails and voicemails every day and step in as a server or bartender when the floor needs another pair of hands. You will be a working manager. You'll work across the hotel. You'll sit in the weekly operations meeting with hotel leadership. You'll work closely with the Atticus Hotel Group Sales Coordinator to book and serve large parties, corporate groups, and group travel. You'll also help carry out the marketing initiatives that bring guests to Cypress. You'll keep the numbers and the paperwork in order. You'll help build and manage the restaurant's annual budget, set pars for supplies, and run monthly liquor, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage inventories. You'll also keep beverage costs on target, place the weekly orders, and oversee cash handling and timekeeping. You'll post schedules two weeks ahead, track every OLCC permit expiration, stay current on Oregon employment law through quarterly HR trainings, and keep employee files complete. What you bring At least two years as a restaurant manager in a restaurant, hotel, or resort, with proven leadership in a high-volume food and beverage operation A current OLCC permit and food handler card Working knowledge of menu development and menu engineering, bar controls, food service standards, table etiquette, and wine service protocol Fluency with POS systems and comfort with reservation platforms Strong organization, close follow-through, and a steady presence when service gets busy Clear communication with guests and staff, written and spoken Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and long days Authorization to work in the United States Age 21 or older; high school diploma or GED (college degree preferred) The physical side Service is on your feet. You'll stand through your shift, work indoors and out, climb stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces. You'll frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 with help.
