Job Description

Bar Lead/Manager McCall Collective Brewing Allentown, PA Job Details Full-time $40,000 - $65,000 a year 4 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Table assignment Shift management Hospitality industry experience Training Venue guest services Full Job Description Bar Lead/Manager McCall Collective Brewing - Downtown AllentownFull-Time | Salary + Tips This is a bartending specific role. We are looking for someone with experience in running a bar, creating a cocktail list, managing liquor pars and upholding cleanliness standards. This is not a traditional Bar Manager position, and it's also not a management job where you'll spend your entire shift in the office. We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working alongside the team, interacting with guests, and taking ownership of the restaurant during service. The Role The Bar Manager will be the lead all operations behind the bar. Separate teams will run the kitchen and servers. While in the building this person will be a key holding leader. Working along side the server leads and kitchen leadership to uphold service level, handle decision making and ensure all customers have a great visit. The position will be a combination of management shifts and bartending shifts. During slower daytime shifts, you'll work as a bartender, handle your own guests and duties, and have the opportunity to earn tips in addition to your salary or hourly. During busy nights, weekends and event days, you'll be the person running the floor — coordinating staff, managing guest flow, helping wherever needed, and keeping the operation moving. What You'll Do Lead Front of House operations during assigned management shifts Bartend during designated shifts and earn tips Direct bartenders and support staff during service Manage seating, sections and guest flow Help coordinate high-volume event and arena nights Handle guest questions, concerns and service recovery Jump in wherever needed — running food, greeting guests, clearing tables or helping behind the bar Communicate with the kitchen and bar to keep service running smoothly Make real-time staffing and floor adjustments based on business volume Help train and develop FOH employees Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming restaurant Assist ownership with implementing operating standards and improving the guest experience What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who has real restaurant experience and is ready to take ownership of a shift. The right person is comfortable leading a team but doesn't need to stand on the sidelines to be a manager. You should be just as willing to take a section, run food or clear a table as you are to direct the floor during a packed event night. Restaurant serving, bartending and/or management experience is strongly preferred. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is: Confident and calm during busy service Comfortable making decisions and solving problems Organized and dependable Great with guests Respected by coworkers and willing to lead by example Comfortable working nights, weekends and special events Interested in growing with an expanding local restaurant and brewery company Compensation This is a full-time salaried position with additional earning opportunities. Base salary or hourly pay Tips earned during designated serving shifts Overtime eligibility Additional opportunities to work special events Expected total annual compensation can reach approximately $55,000-$65,000+, depending on tipped shifts, hours and event opportunities The goal is to offer the stability and responsibility of a management position while still giving the right person the opportunity to earn additional income through serving and events. About McCall Collective McCall Collective is a locally owned brewery and restaurant company built around great beer, great food and approachable hospitality. Our Downtown Allentown location is heavily driven by events, concerts, hockey games, private parties and the surrounding downtown community. Some shifts will be relaxed and hands-on; others will be extremely busy. We're looking for someone who enjoys both and can help us deliver a consistent experience regardless of what's happening downtown. If you're an experienced server, bartender, shift leader or restaurant manager looking for more responsibility without giving up the ability to earn tips and work directly with guests, we'd love to talk.
