Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The Food Access Manager is a full‑time role (typically 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., weekdays) responsible for overseeing New Bethany's daily food service operations. This position leads menu planning, ordering of supplies, food preparation, and meal service, ensuring high‑quality, consistent support for our community. The manager collaborates closely with New Bethany staff to monitor and guide all drop‑in center activities. Please note that this role includes preparing and serving meals during New Bethany's scheduled holidays (four‑hour shifts). Flex time is provided for all holidays worked.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The Food Access Manager will: Lead menu planning, meal preparation, service, and end‑of‑day clean‑up to ensure high‑quality food service delivery. Prepare and cook a large volume of meals daily to support Soup Kitchen participants and maintain consistency in food quality. Maintain an organized, sanitary kitchen environment, including cleaning, inventory management, stock rotation, and required recordkeeping (including temperature logs). Track and maintain records of all in‑kind food donations. Manage and accurately record volunteer hours for reporting and operational needs. Supervise and support kitchen volunteers, kitchen assistants, and kitchen runners to ensure smooth daily operations. Complete ServSafe training within 60 days of hire. Participate in professional development opportunities and cross‑training as requested. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Food Access Manager will delegate daily tasks to Kitchen Volunteers, Kitchen AARP team members, Kitchen Assistants, and Kitchen and Pantry Runners, in alignment with direction from the Director.
Pay:
$24.00 per hour
