Exciting Management Opportunity! The Safari Room Restaurant and Bar at OceanCliff is known for providing extraordinary culinary experiences both indoors and out. We strive to provide five-star experiences for our guests through exceptional service, dining options which are comprised of creative dishes; using local and seasonal ingredients. The world-class panoramic views of Narragansett Bay make the Safari Room a remarkable experience for guests and employees! The Restaurant Manager oversees a professional, upbeat and productive team. This position fosters a creative, free thinking, and intelligent decision making environment. A positive attitude and visible respect of all staff and guests is essential for it's success. You will assist the General Manager to ensure all restaurant operations meet the standards of our guests at all times.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Include (not limited too) ~ Plan, direct, supervise, and review all restaurant operations Schedule all restaurant staff in accordance with IDC staffing guidlines Runs effective pre-shift meetings; Is decisive Proactive attitude regarding all aspects of the business; Makes decisions that are in the best interest of the guests and employees Alert to all aspects of the operation throughout the shift; Recognizes potential problems and solves them quickly and efficiently Able to make appropriate decisions without personal emotion; Maintains Integrity Fosters an environment of continuous learning with new information, testing, and reading Works with the General Manager and BOH to provide on-going training and understanding of menu items and preparation to service staff Motivate staff and maintain a cohesive environment Teaches and coaches staff on a daily basis; Provides consistent and frequent feedback to staff Capable of running the front door on a busy shift Exudes hospitality at the front door; Attention to detail Uses exceptional guest communication, both verbal and written Executes guest recovery and follows up appropriately Excellent problem solver Builds guest loyalty; Works to build food sales by interacting, greeting, seating and making the guests feel at ease Solves problems with an understanding of the importance of each guest being determined to come back Represents the company well and always in a positive light Coordinate and lead inventory of perishable, non-perishable, and capital goods. Ensure maintenance, proper storage, and security of all restaurant equipment Comply with all policies and standard operating procedures of the hotel
Required Experience:
Minimum of two years experience managing in full service dining establishments Proven leadership experience Knowledge of wine and spirits Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) Able to safely lift & easily maneuver trays of food weighing up to 15-25 pounds Ability to perform in a high stress environment Proficiency with a varietal of software systems (TOAST, Excel) Excellent Benefits package for
