Job Description

Summary Oversees retail dining operations to facilitate successful operations and meet revenue objectives Essential Job Functions Manages the daily operations of the counter operation and supervises cash handling procedures Maintains all sanitation and safety standards established by the university Maintains the proper storage and rotation of ready-made food products complying with appropriate standards Assists with creating menus for the dining center and executes the preparation and delivery of menu items, as needed Maintains supply inventory by ordering supplies from approved vendors while maintaining cost objectives, receiving goods and storing them appropriately Assists with creating and coordinating work schedule for staff and students Monitors the departmental budget Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Moderate amount of supervisory experience in food service, culinary arts, retail or other related experience Ability to obtain and maintain food safety managers certification approved by conference for food protection Ability to work daytime, night and weekend shifts
