Job Description

Responsibilities Lead kitchen operations during assigned shifts, with a strong focus on evening and closing shifts Support daily food production while maintaining speed, consistency, portion control, and presentation standards Assist with opening, closing, cash-handling, and shift-management procedures as assigned Ensure all kitchen stations are stocked, clean, organized, and ready for service Oversee nightly closing duties, including cleaning, food storage, equipment shut-down, prep for the following day, and completion of closing checklists Monitor food quality, ticket times, inventory levels, waste, and production needs throughout the shift Train, coach, and support kitchen team members on recipes, procedures, sanitation, safety, and performance expectations Help resolve operational issues and team concerns professionally during shifts Maintain compliance with all food-safety, sanitation, health-department, and workplace-safety requirements Communicate shift updates, maintenance needs, inventory shortages, staffing concerns, and operational issues to the General Manager Create a positive, accountable, team-oriented work environment Qualifications Previous kitchen, food-service, restaurant, or culinary experience is required Previous supervisory, lead, shift-lead, or management experience is preferred Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak business hours is required Strong understanding of kitchen workflow, food preparation, production, sanitation, and closing procedures Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Reliable attendance and the ability to take ownership of assigned shifts Comfortable giving direction, coaching employees, and holding team members accountable Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to [insert weight requirement] pounds as needed Food-handler certification or manager-level food-safety certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain one
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
