Job Description
Position Summary We're looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our café. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming atmosphere, leading a team, and delivering an outstanding experience for every guest. The Café Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards of food service and hospitality, and supporting the growth and development of café staff. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operation of the café, including opening and closing procedures, food and beverage service, cleanliness, and overall appearance. Be an active presence on the floor, supporting team members and ensuring excellent service during busy periods. Address guest questions, concerns, and feedback in a professional and positive manner. Create and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. Train, coach, schedule, and develop café team members. Lead by example and jump in wherever needed to support café operations. Monitor sales, labor costs, food costs, inventory, and other operational performance measures. Manage product ordering and inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while reducing waste. Work closely with leadership to meet operational goals and support the café's financial success. Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health department, and company policies and procedures. What We're Looking For Strong leadership and team-building skills. Previous experience in café, restaurant, hospitality, or food service management. A passion for creating a positive guest experience. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Extensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Required Education & Experience Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in Hospitality, Foodservice Management, Business, or a related field. ServSafe Manager Certification required. Minimum of three (3) years of management experience in a café, coffeehouse, bakery-café, or retail foodservice environment. Preferred Qualifications Culinary Arts degree. Four (4) or more years of management experience in a café or retail foodservice operation. Advanced POS and technology skills. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
