We are partnered with a well-established food manufacturing operation seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee all night shift operations. This individual will serve as the senior operational leader on shift, directing production activities, managing shift supervisors, and ensuring all performance, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on production leader with a strong background in protein or poultry processing who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the total operation of the night shift, serving as the primary point of accountability for shift performance
  • Supervise and develop shift supervisors, providing coaching, direction, and performance feedback
  • Plan and prioritize production activities in alignment with operational goals and cost targets
  • Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers to ensure seamless shift transitions
  • Drive achievement of shift production goals including throughput, yield, and order fulfillment
  • Ensure finished product consistently meets customer quality standards and expectations
  • Partner with Human Resources on staffing levels, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and training of supervisory personnel
  • Enforce compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and all plant policies
  • Minimize waste and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary production costs
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with supervisors, plant management, and cross-functional teams
  • Complete all required shift documentation and reporting accurately and on time
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in poultry and/or protein processing is strongly preferred — candidates must have a working understanding of processing operations
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree highly preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Proven supervisory or management experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to build and interpret Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse workforce across multiple levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and make decisions independently on shift #JDP
