We are currently expanding our kitchen to provide increased fresh options for more restaurant-style dining and top quality food. We are currently hiring for a full-time assistant kitchen manager to assist the Food Service Director, and help continue to grow and expand our Food Service department. Pruett's Market believes in quality of their fresh food and is working toward an all-scratch kitchen. The right individual will be relied upon to help keep these standards in place while expanding our current selections for our valued customers. The right candidate will use their creativity and expertise to work closely with the Executive Chef - to direct food preparation as well as help with the design of food menus and case items. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have proven culinary and management experience. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.
Kitchen Manager Job Responsibilities:
Directs food preparation and collaborates with executive chef. Produces high quality food, working closely with team to make sure recipes are quality and complete. Oversees and supervises kitchen staff. Assists with menu planning, inventory, and management of supplies. Ensures that food is top quality and that kitchen is in good condition. Keeps stations clean and complies with food safety standards. Offers suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen's performance. Prepares food properly. Trains new employees. Monitors and maintains kitchen equipment. Solves problems that arise and seizes control of issues in the kitchen. Responsible for communicating side work assignments to coworkers and ensuring checklists and side work is completed before coworkers clock out. Inspects food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
Kitchen Manager Qualifications/Skills:
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures Management skills Familiarity with industry's best practices Leadership Creativity Hand-eye coordination Time-management skills Decision making Handles pressure Deals with uncertainty
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Formal culinary training can be helpful Kitchen experience Management experience
