Full Time - Kitchen Manager The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - Kitchen Manager at our Brenham Campus. Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below: Job Summary The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for the overall operation and performance of the kitchen staff. This includes setting goals and targets, monitoring progress, and providing feedback and guidance to ensure that the kitchen staff is meeting the standards of the department. The kitchen Manager will maintain a safe and sanitary working environment and implement and enforce safety and sanitation standards. Principal Accountabilities Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance reviews. Ensure all kitchen staff are properly trained and are following all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Ensure kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently. Monitor and maintain adequate kitchen inventory levels. Ensure that recipes and food preparation instructions are followed correctly. Monitor food quality and presentation. Ensure that all equipment is in good working order. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Assist in menu planning and development. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications High school graduation or equivalent. Minimum Competencies Must be dependable, self motivated and be able to work extremely flexible hours, nights and weekend. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees and the public. Knowledge of food preparation and dining service management in a large institutional. Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and report activities in the kitchen. Knowledge of health hazards and safety precautions involved in food service and preparation. Ability to plan and allocate workloads of employees and to supervise as needed. Ability to train food service employees in the technical preparation of food, knowledgeable of the associated health and safety precautions. Ability to use and understand software systems, computer skills, Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet, ordering online, etc. Basic reading, writing , and math skills Knowledge of Texas Department of State Health Services, Retail Food Establishments, Health and Safety Codes, Rules and Regulations Preferred Qualifications Three years management experience in a commercial or institutional dining service and or experience as a chef. Successful management and supervision experience Preferred Competencies Special Notes To Applicants Position work hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm with some nights and weekends. Being able to work flexible hours is a plus This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position.
