Job Description

Summary:
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading the overall operations of a Wendy's restaurant to ensure high standards of food quality, guest service, cleanliness, and profitability. The GM manages all aspects of the business, including staffing, training, inventory, and financial performance, while fostering a positive team culture that aligns with Wendy's brand values and the Toot n Totum Way.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise all restaurant management and hourly crew members, including Assistant General Managers, Shift Managers and Crew Members. Handle recruitment, interviewing, and training of all restaurant staff to maintain proper staffing levels. Oversee the daily workflow & operations and set clear expectations and goals for all team members. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback. Manage scheduling to ensure adequate coverage during peak and off-peak hours while controlling labor costs. Provide continuous leadership and coaching to all team members, routinely shaping positive & constructive feedback to ensure the team is set up for success. Handles discipline and termination of team members in accordance with company policy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning. Maintain Wendy's operational standards for food quality, speed of service, and cleanliness. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling regulations. Monitor restaurant performance through reports and inspections, identifying and resolving operational issues. Control inventory levels and minimize waste through proper ordering, storage, and rotation of products. Ensure proper maintenance of restaurant equipment and facilities. Manage the restaurant's budget to achieve financial goals in sales, labor, and profit. Review and analyze financial reports to identify opportunities for cost control and revenue growth. Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high quality and service standards. Oversee cash handling, deposits, and banking procedures to ensure accuracy and security. Meet or exceed company-established performance metrics (sales, profit, customer satisfaction, and food safety). Create and maintain a positive, motivating work environment focused on teamwork and accountability. Conduct regular meetings to communicate goals, policies, and performance results. Ensure every guest receives prompt, friendly, and accurate service. Handle guest complaints professionally, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction Maintain Wendy's brand image by ensuring restaurant cleanliness, hospitality, and product presentation.
  • Monitor and respond to customer feedback to continually improve service and quality. Ensure all employees follow Wendy's policies, procedures, and company standards. Always represent the Wendy's brand in a professional and positive manner. Perform other duties as assigned by the District Manager or franchise leadership.

  • Irregular hours and weekends will be required according to the needs of the business.
Education & Experience:
  • Associates degree and 1 year of line experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in management preferred in a QSR environment.
  • Experience managing others preferred but not required.
  • SERV Safe certification or ability to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel/crawl, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat, drive and use keyboard.
Lifting Requirements:
Lift/pull up to 50 lbs. daily.
    Hearing Requirements:
    Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, machinery
      Cognitive Requirements:
      Basic reading, writing and math skills.
      Basic speech skills:
      must be able to speak, read, write & understand the English language, clerical tasks, memorization, analytical skills, function under stress & make independent decisions.
        Vision Requirements:
        General vision requirements in addition to close vision (<20 inches), Distance Vision (>20 feet), color vision and peripheral vision.
          Noise Levels:
          Normal (<85dB) noise levels and/or Loud (>85dB) noise levels.
          • Repetitive Motion(s): Regularly & repetitively use both feet and both hands.
          Environmental Factors:
          General working conditions include wet/humid/steam conditions not created by weather, slippery floors, hot grease, working with mechanical parts and machinery including machinery that contains moving parts, toxic/caustic chemicals, concentrated soaps & cleaning solutions, asbestos exposure, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat/cold, confined areas, pressurized equipment, Oxygen/Acetylene, Cylinders, CO2 Cylinders, electrical equipment, vibration, possible flying debris, flashing/strobing lighting and work around vehicles in motion.
