Job Description

Sage Hill Inn & Spa is an award-winning luxury boutique property located on 88 acres in the Texas Hill Country, less than 30 minutes south of Austin. The property includes luxury accommodations, an award-winning restaurant, full-service spa, weddings and corporate events, pickleball, and extensive outdoor amenities. We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial General Manager to lead the property and help drive its next stage of growth. The General Manager will have responsibility for the overall operation and financial performance of Sage Hill, including lodging, food & beverage, spa, events, guest experience, facilities, and grounds. The GM will lead and work closely with an established leadership team that includes a Front of House Manager, Executive Chef, and Head of Sales & Marketing, along with other key team members across the property. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who combines exceptional hospitality instincts with strong business and financial acumen.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the overall operations and financial performance of Sage Hill Inn & Spa.
  • Lead and partner with the Direct of Resort Operations, Executive Chef, Head of Sales & Marketing, and other property leaders to execute the property's goals.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth, profitability, and expense management.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow lodging, restaurant, spa, group/event, and ancillary revenues.
  • Build, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing process-oriented team while empowering department leaders to effectively manage their areas.
  • Maintain exceptional standards across guest service, accommodations, food & beverage, spa, cleanliness, facilities, and grounds.
  • Continually evaluate the guest experience and identify opportunities to improve service, amenities, programming, and the property itself.
  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing and revenue management resources to improve occupancy, ADR, group business, and overall property revenue.
  • Manage vendor relationships, purchasing, maintenance, capital needs, and operating expenses.
  • Serve as a visible leader on property, regularly engaging with guests and employees.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • 7+ years of progressive hospitality leadership experience, preferably with an upscale hotel, luxury boutique property, resort, or independent hospitality business.
  • Experience managing a hotel or hospitality P&L and demonstrated ability to drive revenue and profitability.
  • Broad operational experience across lodging and ideally food & beverage, spa, events, or other hospitality businesses.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing managers and building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent understanding of luxury hospitality and guest experience.
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and comfortable operating in an independent environment.
  • Strong financial, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Previous GM experience is preferred, but we will consider exceptional Assistant GMs, Directors of Operations, Hotel Managers, or other senior hospitality leaders ready to step into a GM role.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an opportunity to lead a unique independent hospitality property with an experienced leadership team already in place. We are looking for someone who thinks like an owner - equally comfortable developing a growth strategy, reviewing financial performance, coaching a department leader, walking the property, or talking directly with guests. The right person will bring together the existing strengths of the team while creating accountability, driving growth, and continually raising the standard of the Sage Hill experience.
