Job Description
Holland Pump Company seeks a hands-on Service Manager to lead pump rental and service operations in Austin, TX. You will oversee technicians, coordinate field installations, and ensure our dewatering and pump rental fleet is maintained, repaired, and ready for construction and industrial projects. Partnering closely with sales and customers, you will scope jobs, plan pump solutions, schedule crews, and support emergency response. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience in rental or construction service, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and customer-first service. Responsibilities Oversee daily pump rental and service operations for construction and industrial customers Lead, schedule, and develop service technicians and field personnel Ensure proper maintenance, repair, and readiness of rental fleet and pump systems Coordinate dispatch, installations, and emergency response for dewatering projects Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and housekeeping in shop and field Work closely with sales to scope jobs, plan solutions, and meet customer expectations Monitor job costs, rental utilization, and service productivity Build strong customer relationships through responsive, hands-on support Manage parts and inventory levels to minimize downtime Prepare reports and communicate performance, issues, and improvement plans to leadership Required Skills Pump system maintenance Construction dewatering knowledge Equipment rental management Field service operations Team leadership Customer relationship management Job cost estimating Inventory control Safety compliance (OSHA) Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
