Full-Time Family Assistant / Household Manager Household of 6 South Jordan, UT Job Details Full-time From $30 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Maintaining an organized workspace Simple food item preparation Driver's License Attention to detail Calendar management Personal transportation assistance Purchasing Food preparation Chauffeur driving Full Job Description About the Role We are looking for a dependable, organized, proactive, and warm Family Assistant / Household Manager to help keep our busy household running smoothly. This position combines childcare, transportation, household organization, errands, kid logistics, and household responsibilities. Our children are school-aged, so much of the day while they are at school will be focused on managing household tasks, errands, organization, and staying ahead of the kids' schedules and needs. The ideal person is someone who enjoys children but is equally comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day details of running a home. We are looking for someone who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative rather than waiting for a task list. Typical Schedule Morning Arrive at approximately 8:00 AM Help children get organized and ready for school as needed Prepare backpacks, lunches, water bottles, sports equipment, etc. Make sure children have everything needed for the school day Drive children to school During School Hours While the children are at school, responsibilities may include: General household organization and tidying Laundry, folding, and putting clothes away Keeping children's bedrooms and common areas organized Changing and washing bedding as needed Loading/unloading dishwasher and keeping kitchen organized Grocery shopping and household supply runs Returning packages and handling miscellaneous errands Picking up prescriptions, dry cleaning, or other family items Organizing closets, pantry, mudroom, children's belongings, etc. Keeping track of household supplies and replenishing items Receiving packages and coordinating household deliveries Helping prepare simple meals, snacks, or meal prep Preparing for children's after-school activities Assisting with occasional household projects and appointments This is not intended to be a full-time deep-cleaning position. We are looking for someone who will help maintain and organize the household between professional cleanings. Kid Logistics & Family Coordination A major part of this role will be helping manage the details that keep our children's schedules organized and running smoothly, including: Keeping track of school calendars, activities, practices, games, lessons, and appointments Helping maintain and update the family calendar Reviewing school communications and identifying upcoming events, deadlines, or needs Keeping track of permission slips, school forms, picture days, spirit days, projects, and special events Making sure backpacks and school supplies are stocked and organized Keeping track of sports uniforms, equipment, shoes, water bottles, and activity gear Washing and preparing uniforms or activity clothing before practices and games Making sure children have the correct gear packed for each day's activities Keeping vehicles stocked with commonly needed kid items Coordinating school pickup changes, carpools, and activity transportation as needed Scheduling or helping coordinate children's appointments, lessons, and activities Keeping track of birthday parties and helping purchase and wrap gifts Helping purchase school supplies, clothing, sports gear, and other children's necessities Managing seasonal clothing and identifying when children have outgrown items Keeping children's closets, backpacks, sports bags, and activity areas organized Preparing for field trips, school events, tournaments, performances, vacations, or other activities Communicating upcoming needs, schedule conflicts, and reminders to parents Anticipating what the children will need for the upcoming day or week so the family can stay ahead rather than reacting at the last minute Afternoon Pick children up from school Prepare snacks Transport children to activities, practices, lessons, appointments, or friends' homes as needed Help children get organized for homework and afternoon activities Make sure activity bags, uniforms, and equipment are ready Keep the afternoon routine running smoothly Wrap up household responsibilities before leaving at approximately 4:00 PM What We're Looking For The right person will be: Extremely reliable and punctual Trustworthy and discreet Warm, positive, and good with children Highly organized Comfortable working independently Naturally proactive and able to anticipate needs Someone who enjoys creating systems and keeping a household organized Flexible when family schedules occasionally change Comfortable driving children Able to juggle several different responsibilities during the day Detail-oriented and willing to take ownership of household and kid-related tasks Comfortable communicating regularly with parents about schedules, needs, and priorities Requirements Valid driver's license and safe driving record Reliable transportation Prior childcare, nanny, family assistant, household management, or similar experience preferred Comfortable transporting school-aged children Able to provide references Ability to pass a background check Comfortable with basic household tasks, errands, laundry, organization, and light meal preparation Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who becomes an important and trusted part of our family's day-to-day life. Someone who can confidently handle school drop-offs and pickups, care for the kids when they are home, and use the school day productively to keep both the household and the children's schedules organized and ahead of schedule . The best candidate will naturally notice when a child is running low on school supplies, when a uniform needs to be washed before tomorrow's game, when a permission slip is due, or when something needs to be added to the family calendar—and will take the initiative to handle it. This would be an excellent position for an experienced nanny who enjoys household management responsibilities or a family assistant looking for a stable, long-term, Monday-Friday position.
Hours:
Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00
PM Compensation:
$30-$32/hour, depending on experience
