Overview L'Auberge Chez François | Great Falls, VA Thompson Hospitality is seeking an experienced and polished Restaurant Manager to join the leadership team at L'Auberge Chez François , a distinguished destination for classic French cuisine, exceptional service, and timeless hospitality in Great Falls, Virginia. We are looking for a hospitality leader who understands that exceptional dining is about more than great food—it is about creating an experience guests remember. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who sets the standard for service, develops a strong team, and takes pride in every detail of the guest experience. Responsibilities What You'll Do Lead daily Front-of-House operations while maintaining the restaurant's high standards for service, hospitality, and guest experience. Be a visible and engaged leader on the floor, ensuring guests receive warm, polished, and personalized service. Coach, mentor, and develop servers, hosts, bartenders, and other Front-of-House team members. Set clear expectations for service standards, professionalism, appearance, and performance. Conduct pre-shift meetings and ensure the team is prepared for each service. Monitor the dining room throughout service, anticipating guest needs and addressing opportunities before they become issues. Handle guest questions, requests, and concerns with professionalism, discretion, and a genuine commitment to hospitality. Work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure seamless coordination between the Front and Back of House. Maintain strong knowledge of the menu, French cuisine, wine, cocktails, and service standards in order to confidently guide both guests and team members. Support training and ongoing education in food, wine, beverage, service, and hospitality. Monitor reservations, table flow, pacing, and overall dining room execution. Assist with scheduling, staffing, timekeeping, and other administrative responsibilities as needed. Monitor labor and operating costs while maintaining appropriate staffing levels and exceptional service. Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and company standards. Assist with inventory, ordering, cash handling, and other operational responsibilities as assigned. Collaborate with management and leadership to identify opportunities to improve service, revenue, and guest satisfaction. Lead by example and foster a respectful, professional, and team-oriented workplace. Qualifications Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience in a fine dining, upscale, or high-volume restaurant environment . Strong knowledge of reservations management and front door operations , including guest seating, table management, waitlists, and coordinating guest flow. Proficiency with the OpenTable reservation system , including managing reservations, guest profiles, table availability, waitlists, and seating assignments. Exceptional guest service and communication skills , with a polished and professional presence. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including coordination between the host stand, servers, management, and kitchen . Ability to handle guest concerns and special requests with professionalism and discretion. Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain calm and composed during high-volume service periods.
