Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Kitchen Manager / Chef to manage a 7 day/week Bistro inside Regal Gymnastics Academy. In this lead position, you could elect to work 40 hours/week yourself and direct limited additional staff - or if you are looking for limited hours, you could only perform Chef/Menu/Program Manager - ordering/staff mgmt/menu/safety compliance roles part time hiring a larger expanded staff. Prime client hours are 9am-1pm (particularly Sat/Sun) - and many local businesses would welcome a reliable lunch time menu service offering. In the afternoons, weekday classes keep clients coming and going every hour between 3pm and 6pm. (can be menu or grab and go only). Responsibilities Lead and supervise kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and maintaining high standards of food preparation and service Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food production, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations Plan and develop menus that highlight fresh ingredients, seasonal offerings, and innovative dishes aligned with the bistro's concept Manage food handling procedures, ensuring proper storage, sanitation, and adherence to food safety standards Coordinate special high volume events (from competitions) once or twice per year. Monitor inventory levels, order supplies efficiently, and control costs while minimizing waste Train staff on culinary techniques, food presentation, and customer service to promote a positive dining atmosphere Qualifications Proven experience in restaurant management with a strong background in culinary arts and kitchen operations Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising teams Familiarity with inventory management systems and cost control strategies Strong understanding of food safety protocols and dietary department standards Ability to manage shift schedules effectively while maintaining high-quality service standards Join us as the Bistro Kitchen Manager / Chef if you're passionate about creating exceptional culinary experiences, leading motivated teams, and running your own kitchen !!
