Laconia Market & Cafe is more than a cafe.
We're the neighborhood grocery store, coffee shop, gathering place, and first stop for thousands of people heading into the Cascades. On any given day, we're serving skiers before first chair, hikers grabbing lunch, locals picking up groceries, families on road trips, and regulars who know us by name.
We're looking for someone who wants to be part chef, part host, part leader, and part community builder.
This isn't a position where you'll hide in the kitchen. We believe the best hospitality happens when the people creating the food are also connecting with the people enjoying it.
What You'll DoLead the KitchenOversee all daily kitchen operationsPrepare breakfast, sauces, soups, salads, sandwiches, ingredients, bowl specials, and seasonal specialsOrder ingredients and manage inventoryMaintain recipe books and food costingManage prep schedules and prep logsEnsure consistency and quality every dayManage catering ordersMaintain food safety and cleanliness standardsDevelop and refine recipesReduce waste and maximize efficiencyWe believe hospitality belongs to everyone not just the front-of-house team.
Lead the TeamYou'll oversee both the kitchen and front-of-house staff in partnership with other Team Leads.
Responsibilities include:
Training new employeesSetting daily prioritiesCoaching team membersCreating a positive workplace cultureHelping staff growJumping into any position when neededLeading by exampleLead the CafeWhen the cafe gets busy, everyone jumps in. That includes you.
You'll regularly jump in to:
Greet guestsTake food & drink orders at the registerAnswer questions about the menuHelp customers shopping in the marketAssemble customer ordersCreate a warm, welcoming atmosphereWho You AreYou might be the perfect fit if you:
