VFW Club General Manager
Job Description
Job Description The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations at VFW Post 305's Bar and Restuarant ensuring an exceptional guest experience, strong financial performance, and a positive, team-driven work environment. This role leads front and back of house operations, drives revenue growth, and upholds the Clubs standards for quality, service, and community presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management Oversee all daily restaurant operations, including dining room, bar, and kitchen coordination. Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and service. Monitor and maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations. Team Leadership & Development Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff across all departments. Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development. Guest Experience Maintain a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for guests. Address customer feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Build relationships with regular patrons and the local community. Financial Performance Manage budgets, labor costs, and inventory to meet financial goals. Analyze sales trends and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability. Oversee cash handling, reporting, and daily financial operations. Marketing & Community Engagement Collaborate on promotions, events, and seasonal offerings. Maintain an active presence in the Eau Claire and surrounding community. Support brand consistency across in-house and digital platforms. Qualifications 3-5+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a full-service setting. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proven ability to drive sales and manage costs effectively. Knowledge of food, beverage, and bar operations. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills Experience with POS and restaurant management software. Scheduling Background in staff training and team development. Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
