Food and Beverage Supervisor Reports to the

Lead Servers, Serving Staff, Busser/Runners, Greeters Classification:
Non-Exempt Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED required. Four-year degree in hospitality preferred. Three years of private-club dining room supervisory experience required. Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations Manages dining service in the main clubhouse. Maintains frequent member contact throughout service hours. Understands and performs assigned responsibilities during emergency situations. Job Summary (Essential Functions) Ensures high standards of appearance, hospitality, service, and cleanliness throughout all dining room areas. Supervises and trains dining room staff, promotes timely food service, manages operations within budget, and implements programs that encourage repeat business and increases check averages. Job Tasks/Duties Dining Room Operations & Guest Service Designs floor plans based on reservations. Plans dining room setup based on anticipated member counts and service needs. Takes reservations, reviews table schedules, and maintains the reservation log. Develops and maintains the dining room reservation system. Assists with greeting and seating members and guests. Receives and resolves complaints related to dining room service. Serves as liaison between dining room and kitchen staff. Works with the Executive Chef to review, update, and print weekly menu changes. Conducts pre-meal meetings with dining room staff in the absence of the Assistant Director or Food and Beverage Manager; communicates key information, including house count, menu changes, and special member requests. Attends scheduled staff meetings. May serve as the club's opening manager, closing manager, or manager on duty. Staff Supervision & Training Ensures all dining room employees are properly uniformed and maintain a clean appearance. Assists with hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating dining room staff. Verifies time, attendance, and hours worked, and approves weekly departmental payroll. Trains staff on all aspects of the POS system. Recommends improvements to dining room service procedures and layout. Administrative & Financial Reporting Produces daily or meal-period revenue analyses and other dining room reports from POS systems. Prepares reports on employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, tip pools, and related matters. Monitors dining room labor and supplies budgets and adjusts as needed to meet financial goals. Uses computer systems to accurately charge members, prepare forecast and revenue reports, and draft correspondence. Inventory, Equipment & Beverage Program Ensures all side work is completed and equipment and storage areas are cleaned according to schedule. Ensures dining room areas, equipment, and fixtures are clean, safe, and properly maintained; reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns. Ensures the dining room and other club areas are secure at the end of the business day. Maintains inventory of dining room items, including silverware, coffee pots, water pitchers, glassware, flatware, chinaware, salt and pepper holders, sugar bowls, and linens; ensures items are properly stored and accounted for. Orders, receives, and manages beverage inventory accurately. Assists with developing wine lists and beverage promotions. Ensures local and state laws, as well as club policies and procedures for alcoholic beverage service, are consistently followed. Additional Responsibilities Completes other appropriate assignments and projects as directed by the Assistant Director and Food and Beverage Manager. Licenses and Special Requirements Alcoholic beverage certification required. Food safety certification required. Designated as a safety-sensitive position. Physical Demands and Work Environment Requires standing for long periods and walking, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching. Requires pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires continuous repetitive motion. Requires working in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
Pay:
$30.00 per hour
