The Shift Leader plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth daily operations while providing exceptional guest service. Acting as a bridge between team members and management, the Shift Leader oversees shifts, guides team performance, and ensures company standards are met in food quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists in managing day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures. Supervises and executes running an effective shift. Monitors and maintains food quality, service standards, and cleanliness in compliance with company policies and health regulations. Multitasks by cooking several different orders at once, ensuring that all items are prepared per guest instructions frequently. Prepares batches of food that are cooked to order or kept warm frequently. Operates batch machine to produce eegees, ensuring product quality and safety. Operates large-volume cooking equipment such as grills and/or deep fryers frequently. Prepares, washes, and cuts food to be cooked frequently. Hires, trains, mentors, and evaluates team members providing regular feedback to improve/recognize performance. Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and opportunities to enhance competitive positioning. Any other responsibility that aligns with the role.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task. Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for your actions with integrity. Ability to efficiently communicate to create interpersonal relationships and provide excellent guest service. Ability to provide strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18+ years old. Previous restaurant experience. Must have current Food Handler's card (Maricopa & Pinal counties only). Must achieve Food Protection Manager certification within 90 days of hire and maintain.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work around hot equipment, oil, extreme cold (walk-in freezer), loud noises for the duration of shift. Must be able to remain standing for the duration, excluding breaks. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of hands, wrists, fingers, arms, legs, and bending at the waist (climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials) for the duration of shift. Use of cognitive skills including, but not limited to, learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem-solving, and comprehending for the duration of shift.
