Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Kitchen Supervisor to lead our culinary team within a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). This vital role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of nutritious, appealing meals that meet dietary and safety standards, and managing staff to deliver exceptional food service experiences. The Kitchen Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining high sanitation procedures, controlling food costs, and fostering a positive, efficient kitchen environment that supports the well-being of our residents. Duties Supervise and coordinate all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met. Manage food production schedules to ensure timely delivery of meals for residents and staff, maintaining efficiency during shift changes. Oversee staff supervision, including training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Ensure compliance with sanitation procedures and food safety regulations to uphold the highest hygiene standards in all kitchen activities. Monitor inventory levels, place orders for food and supplies, and control food costs through effective management of resources. Implement and oversee dietary guidelines specific to residents' needs while accommodating special diets or restrictions. Maintain accurate documentation related to food safety logs, incident reports, and shift reports; ensure proper handling of food and beverages using POS systems when applicable. Qualifications Proven experience in food service management within the food industry or hospitality sector, including supervising teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, sanitation procedures, and kitchen management best practices. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage staff effectively and foster teamwork among culinary personnel. Familiarity with restaurant management systems or POS systems used in food service settings. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing inventory, costs, and compliance documentation. Knowledge of dietary requirements specific to elderly populations or healthcare settings is preferred but not required. Ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support continuous kitchen operations.
