Manages budget for food supplies, equipment and staff; hires and trains staff; monitors food safety procedures. May plan menus or work with chefs or dieticians to plan menus. Works in a school, hospital, nursing home or other institution.

Job Summary Supervises, schedules and coordinates the work activities of all kitchen employees in preparing and dispensing of food for hospitalized patients, staff and visitors.
Job Requirements Minimum Education Requirement:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Three years work experience in a hospital dietary department; experience in working with modified diets or chef experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills required.
Minimum License Requirement:
Food Safety Certification required within 6 months of hire. Valid California Driver's License required. Must be 21 years of age or older; must have two (2) years of continuous driving experience in the state of California. If a license is suspended, the experience record begins from the time of license reinstatement. Must have no major convictions (ie DUI/DWI, hit and run, driving w/suspended license, reckless driving, eluding police, open containers, exhibition of speed (racing), negligent driving); must have no more than one (1) moving citation in a three (3) year period; must have no more than one (1) at- fault accident in a three (3) year period. Accidents will be considered at-fault unless evidence is provided (ie police report and/or letter from insurance company) showing the incident as not at-fault.
