POSITION SUMMARY
The Dining Room Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive dining experience for residents of our assisted living facility. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining room and maintaining the highest level of service quality, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere that enhances residents' well-being. This position will report to the Culinary Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to all components of the above position summary the following "Essential Duties and Responsibilities" are essential to successful performance in this position. Coordinate staff schedules, assignments, and breaks to ensure seamless service during mealtimes. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, menu changes and service expectations. Ensure residents' dietary preferences, restrictions, and allergies are consistently respected and accommodated. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dining environment that adheres to health and safety regulations. Oversee the arrangement of tables, settings, and decorations to create an appealing atmosphere for residents. Assist in menu planning and recommend changes based on resident feedback and dietary requirements. Monitor food and beverage presentation, portion sizes, and temperature to ensure consistent quality. Address any service or food-related issues promptly to enhance resident satisfaction. Interact with residents during mealtimes, engaging in conversations, addressing concerns, and building positive relationships. Monitor inventory levels of dining supplies, tableware, and linens, and coordinate orders as needed. Lead and supervise dining room staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and dining room attendants. Uphold exceptional customer service standards by training and coaching staff in proper etiquette, table service, and resident interactions. Conduct ongoing trainings sessions to enhance staff skills in areas such as customer service, safety protocols, and dining room procedures. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure accurate menu presentation, including descriptions and dietary information. Assist with additional responsibilities as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
High school diploma or equivalent; additional culinary or hospitality education is a plus. Previous experience in a supervisory role within the food service industry, preferably in an assisted living, senior living, or healthcare setting. Proficiency in computer application for scheduling and basic record keeping. Knowledge of proper food safety practices, including sanitation, hygiene, and allergen awareness. Mandatory Live-Scan Clearance, TB test, physical exam and CPR/AED certification are required upon job offer.

Familiar with industry's best practices. Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen. A team player with good communication skills. Ability to stay positive under pressure. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to follow both oral and written directions. Proven ability to have patience and compassion to serve in a client facing role.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibly supervises all dining room staff including scheduling, assignment and provide clear and precise direction as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
Stand for prolonged period of time. Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25lbs.
