The Supervisor will assist their team in determining the disposition of current Production parts to ensure Tesla standards are being met. Supervisors must be prepared to make justified decisions and escalate concerns to the appropriate party by promoting a healthy culture of Quality. The purpose of the Quality Supervisor is to develop their team into highly skilled and knowledgeable Quality Leads and Quality Inspectors in order to quickly and accurately disposition defective parts. The Quality Supervisor is a key bridge between different departments when defects arise helping to quickly prevent additional flow out of non-conforming material.
Shift:
6:00pm-6:05am; Sunday-Tuesday; every other Wednesday What You'll Do Manage a team of Quality Leads and Quality Inspectors in their day-to-day operations, including creating rotations, monitoring breaks and lunches, and providing all levels of coaching. Guide inspection and rework teams to properly disposition parts as good for use, needs repair, or scrap Coaching and mentoring the team during day-to-day operations as well as providing great feedback prior, during and post review periods Managing a highly productive team schedule. Continuously looking for way to grow our department and the team. Prepare and lead daily Quality meetings with Quality Inspection Management Document and communicate any identified defects. Escalate concerns to Quality Inspection Management that are not being properly resolved in your immediate work area Comprehend current Production Quality standards and determine if ongoing production meets those standards; Communicate emerging and trending quality issues to prevent negative impact to the factory Construct and maintain strong relationships with members of production and engineering teams. Collaborating closely with other Tesla cross-functional teams such as Planning Teams, Quality Engineers, PC Teams, etc. Executing all responsibilities without hindering safety, quality, positive environment, and cost savings What You'll Bring Ability to visually detect defects in a fast-paced environment, ability to identify and differentiate between several defect types, ability to determine severity of a defect and the required response Ability to perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting of Quality issues that will be referenced by technicians, engineers, and management Ability to determine potential countermeasure solutions against failed inspections Ability to help establish first line of defense for immediate containment activities Ability to build solid relationships with several teams in multiple departments.
